RBC Foundation Supports Children's Mental Health

Last week, at the request of the RBC Foundation, Trellis submitted an application for their consideration in support of their named giving priority, Children's Mental Health.  The proposal requested a donation of $27,613 for infant mental health services.

We were successful!  RBC will present a cheque for $28,000 on May 5^th at 11:00 am to Trellis at our Silvercreek location. This funding will provide Trellis with the opportunity to increase our infant mental health services by 2 days per week for 1 year.

Trellis' Capital Project

Trellis Mental Health and Developmental Services is working with our funders to finalize support  for our Capital Project at 80 Waterloo Avenue in Guelph. This new building will house program and administrative staff from our Delhi and Surrey Street locations.   

Although progress is not as fast as we would like, Trellis' Capital Project continues to move forward. In October 2009, the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care Capital Department approved Trellis to proceed to Stage 2 of the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care's building process.  The process has 5 Stages; Stage 2 is the submission of a Functional Program.  The Functional Program defines the physical space and equipment requirements of the services that will be accommodated within the building and sets the stage for the actual design of the building.

The Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Capital Department is currently reviewing the Functional Program.  We anticipate approval to move to Stage 3 - Preliminary Design Development, within the next few weeks.  Once approved, we will begin to design the actual building. As we progress through this phase, there will be information posted here.

Our target to move into our new building remains March 31, 2012.
